Showcasing creative photography by
Anthony MacIsaac
Creative photography is a bit of a departure for me. I have focused primarily on abstract painting and mixed media art since 1985 when I earned an MFA in painting and drawing from Washington State University.
Unfortunately, in December 2017, the Thomas Wild Fire that burned over 500 homes in Ventura, CA also destroyed our home, studio and most of my art portfolio of 30+ years. While the house and studio were being rebuild, I turned to photography for my creative endeavors. It became an extended project...
... a personal, visual interpretation of common sensory experiences using formal, abstract design in an expressionistic mode. Some are simply photos of interesting places, mostly outdoors where I love to explore. With others photos, I try to take the image well beyond the immediate scene...
Abstraction can allow for broader and deeper interpretation of the image. Consider that images can be a catalyst for the imagination, a gateway… I love going through that gate, exploring what’s out there (or in there) on the other side. I hope you do, too!
Please, take your time when looking around the sections in this “portfolio”. I’m adding more (and subtracting, too), all the time, so come back often. I’d love to hear from you - let me know your thoughts…

PRESENTATION:
Generally I print my photos on aluminum, Gatorboard or wood panels, hanging an inch or so out from the wall. This provides for a more crisp, modern presentation. Only archival/museum quality UV-resistant inks are used.
Most of my work is available for purchase in very limited additions and custom sizes.
Thank you for your interest!
